Pay for your parking time with the app “Betala P” (Pay P)
The City of Stockholm offers all customers to pay for the parking time with the app “Betala P” (Pay P). “Betala P” can be used at on-street parking and off-street parking at all places where the City of Stockholm is responsible for the parking. (Stockholm Parkering is owned by the City of Stockholm and operates on off-street parking).This means that you can use the app also in the facilities and parking lots operated by Stockholm Parkering.
Betala P has no additional fees. The cost is the same as if you would use the parking meter machine.
Does “Betala P” function on all Stockholm Parkering facilities?
Betala P can be used at all the parking lots and parking garages, operated by Stockholm Parkering - except in five parking garages with a boom barrier system. In these garages the credit card is used to open the boom at entry and exit from the garage.
The five parking garages with a boom barrier system are: P-hus Gallerian, P-hus Norra Latin, Högalidsgaraget, P-hus Slussen och Stigbergsgaraget.
How can I see that Stockholm Parkering is the operator on a specific parking facility?
At the entrance to a facility operated by Stockholm Parkering there is always a traffic sign with the name”Stockholms Stads Parkerings AB” and a phone number 08-772 96 85. The sign with the area code (used to start parking time in the app) also has the Stockholm Parkering logotype.
If the sign at the entrance has another parking operators name, like Q-Park, Parkman or APCOA, then you can’t use the app “Betala P” to pay for the parking fee.
What is Betala P?
Betala P is a service to pay for the parking time by an app in the mobil phone, as an alternative to pay in a parking meter machine. Stockholm Parkering has also a few facilities where the only alternative to pay for the parking time is by the app. These parking lots are often conected to a specific working place.
The app can be downloaded for Android and iOS phones.
Does it cost extra to use “Betala P”?
To download the app doesn’t cost anything. To use the app for paying the parking fee does not cost anything extra, in comparison if you would pay the fee in the parking meter machine.
Additional charges for calls and Internet access may be taken by the telephone operator.
How can I register myself as a customer?
Download the app “Betala P” from Appstore or Google Play and register yourself as an user.
Which credit cards can be used with “Betala P”?
You can register Visa, MasterCard or American Express for this payment service.
After I have downloaded the app, what is the next step?
Log in to the app by entering your mobil number (including the land code, in Sweden +46) and the password you have received by e-mail. All the other information is registered directly in the app. The fields you must fill with information is the car register number and your credit card details.
If you don’t remember your password, order a new one by clicking in the app on “Password by SMS”.
How do I start the parking time? How do I choose the right fee?
Open the app “Betala P” on your phone.
- Enter the area code for the parking lot or parking garage in the app. Every parking garage and parking lot has their own, separate area code.
The area code can be found on signs located in the facility. They are often found near the parking meter machine. If the facility doesn’t have a parking meter machine the signs are nearby the entrance or on the walkways.
The parking fee differs in different facilities. Information of the fee is available on the parking meter machine. If there is no such machine, the fees are shown on the sign for area code.
It is always your responsibility to read the signs so that the proper fee is paid.
If you use different cars, please, don’t forget to check in the app that you have started your parking time for the “right” car.
Do not use the app’s GPS service for parking facilities operated by Stockholm Parkering
When parking at Stockholm Parkering’s parking garages or parking lots, the parking area kod must be manually entered in the app ”Betala P”. The area code can be found at every parking facility. Each parking facility has its own area code.
The GPS service found in the app ”Betala P” (Taxa1-5) is only valid for on-street parking, operated by Trafikkontoret. Stockholm Parkering has only of-street parking.
Can I be reminded of that my parking time is about to expire?
A push note is sent to you before your parking time expires. However, it is always your responsibility to keep track of when the parking time expires.
How do the parking guards know that I have paid the parking fee by “Betala P”?
The parking guards check the parked cars registration number against the database for the payment service. You don’t need any "proof" on your car, like a decal.
How do I choose the end time when I start a parking time?
In the app, please select the desired parking time with the plus and minus buttons. You choose the time you want to park, like three hours.
How do I extend or shorten up an ongoing parking time?
To extend the parking time: in the app, select a new parking time and then press the “Extended parking” button. If you reach the maximum parking time on the chosen parking lot, you can’t extend the parking time. The maximum parking time on our parking facilities are usually 3-7 days.
To exit your parking time: If you want to end the parking time before it expires, open the app and press the “Exit parking” button. After that the parking time stops. You will not be charged for the whole parking time you choose in the first place.
How do I know how much it costed to park?
A price is shown in the app after you finished your parking time. The app also saves information of your previous parking receipts. In the app, in the settings, you can also choose if you want a pdf-receipt always to be sent to your e-mail.
Can I have more than one vehicle registered in the app?
Yes, you can have many vehicles registered in the app. Please, note that you can only use the app for one vehicle each time. To start parking time for another vehicle, you must at first terminate your ongoing parking time. For example, if you use several cars in your family, a tip is that every family member has the app in their phones.
Must I pay if my mobile phone is malfunctioning?
You must always pay the parking fee, no matter what. If you have forgotten your mobil phone, if the battery is not loading, if the payment system is nor reached by Internet and so on, these are not a reason for not to pay. You have to solve your payment in another way, like paying in the parking meter machine.
I have a phone provided by my workplace. Can I use the phone to pay for my private parking time?
You can download the app Betala P to any mobile phone that has Android or iOS as an operating system. The cost for parking is taken from the credit card you have registered in the app and therefore not connected to a specific phone, or phone bill.
I use my car both at work and private. Can I separate my private and my work related parkings?
The easiest way is to have two different accounts that are linked to the same credit card and the same car. When you park privately, you use one account and when you park work-related, you log in to the second account. That way you don’t need to keep in mind which receipts are private or work related. Just log in on “My pages” (Mina sidor) on the chosen account and get the receipts and parking history. The address to My Pages is https://betalap.stockholm.se
I don’t want to use “Betala P”. I want to use EasyParks, Parkster or SMS Parks app.
You can use EasyParks, Parksters or SMS Parks app. The same area code specified for “Betala P” is also valid for EasyPark, Parkster and SMS Park.
